Hot off the Nashville press, Ang’s cousin Colton Pack recorded a tune she wrote in the studio early this month as part of a prize he won from a contest he participated in.
The tune is featured on his Texaco Country Showdown page: http://countryshowdown.com/Texaco/contestant.php?id=25034 where he was recently the 2011 Local Winner moving on in the overall competition.
Here’s the tune:

It’s amazing how far we’ve come with certain privileges our kids have that we didn’t. I suppose that statement is true from one generation to another.
I remember having to buy wood, nails and PVC pipe to create a homemade ramp that weighed five thousand pounds which I stored in the backyard under the deck. I also remember not being allowed into Burger King because I had a skateboard. That was OK, McD’s had and still does have better fries.
Nowadays kids have skate parks with professionally built ramps and all sorts of trick spots. Heck, they can even get a helmet all for free! They don’t know how lucky they are.
Today we visited a skate park for the first time. The below was a highlight for me.

Howdy folks,
I sure wish I had the learning capacity of an eight year old. I shared with Cole some real basics in Pro Tools like creating tracks, inserts for instruments & effects, arming tracks, and obviously recording. Then I left him alone for about 15 minutes. Here’s what he came up with “Snow” (yes, I thought that was an odd title too being that we are about to enter into warmer days)
